Inkline caches full article text while you have a connection, so your feeds remain readable underground or in the air. Sync happens automatically when the app opens and periodically in the background as iOS allows.
Background refresh is best-effort by design: iOS decides when background work runs, so the freshest sync always comes from opening the app briefly before going offline.
